The story

A Silicon Valley startup building a platform that enables engineers and hobbyists to train intelligent robots for domestic tasks.

Integrating generative AI with hardware requires complex orchestration of vision, navigation, and reasoning models that often exceeds the technical capabilities of individual builders. Additionally, the latency inherent in standard inference prevents robots from processing environmental data quickly enough to move at human speed.

Innate developed a multi-agent system using Meta's Llama 3 that coordinates specialized models for navigation, decision-making, and task prioritization. The platform leverages Groq for high-speed inference, allowing distinct agents to exchange data instantly for real-time physical responsiveness. This architecture enables their beta robot to learn custom skills like object retrieval through simple instruction.
